Jim SKULDT is an American Visual Artist.

He is currently attempting to modify a standard shipping container in order to ship himself internationally via cargo ship, train, truck, or any other conceivable method of transport.

Skuldt is the recipient of grants by the City of LA (COLA Grant 2016), the Harpo Foundation (2012-2014), the California Community Foundation (2014 & 2007), the Creative Capital Foundation (2012 Muriel Pollia Awardee), the Center for Cultural Innovation (2008), and the Durfee Foundation (2007).

His work has appeared in venues including Marlborough Chelsea (NY), Sculpture Center (NY), LTD Los Angeles (LA), LACE (LA), MOCA (LA), Armory Center for the Arts (LA), High Desert Test Sites (Joshua Tree, CA), Friche la Belle de Mai (Marseille, FR), and is a part of collections including the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive, the Skadden LA25, and the Getty Institute.

He has been awarded residencies by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (2016 Governor's Island, NYC), Rauschenberg Foundation (2014 Captiva, FL), the Center for the Art of Performance UCLA (2014 Los Angeles), the Banff Centre (2013 Alberta, CN), AIR Antwerpen (2010 Antwerp, BE) and the Triangle France (2006 Marseille, FR), which he reached via containership.

Skuldt received an MFA from California Institute of the Arts in 2005 and is based in Los Angeles where he is a lecturer in Skulpture at UCLA.
